What can you expect at your first visit to our office?
First, you should feel welcomed and relaxed. Your patient information form was filled out in advance online, so there is literally nothing left for you to do but relax and enjoy the ride. Patty will be the first member of the team to greet you. She will be sure that all of your paperwork is in order, take a quick photo for our records, and let me know that you are ready to begin.
I will come out, introduce myself to you, and bring you back to my private office where the consultation will take place. My first priority is to fully understand what concerns you have for your child, or your own teeth. We will review the patient information form together, and I will perform a thorough examination.
We will spend the remainder of our time together discussing treatment options, and before you leave, you should expect to have a clear understanding of those options, your expected time in treatment, your retention options, and the cost involved. If you are ready to proceed with the treatment plan at that time, your next step is the taking of diagnostic records.
At this point, we will leave my private office and go to the records room where I will introduce you to Lorraine. She will take complete diagnostic records for you which include photographs of your face and teeth, two x-rays of your teeth and skull, and impressions to make models of your teeth. These records provide me with valuable additional information to use in finalizing your treatment plan.
We then return to my office for a review of the records together. You have the option to ask any additional questions and once we are both satisfied, an appointment to begin treatment can be scheduled.
You should reserve an hour for our first visit together. I look forward to welcoming you into our orthodontic family.
